Continental Clothing Co., Los Angeles, is supplying its EarthPositive T-shirts for International Surfing Day promotional items at the request of Surfing Magazine.
International Surfing Day, presented by Monster Energy, is celebrating its fifth anniversary on June 20, and surfers around the world will participate in more than 100 coastal events. Surfers will take part in numerous challenges designed to celebrate surfing or give back to the oceans and beaches. The 2009 challenges are sponsored by Electric, Ocean Minded, Matix, DVS, O'Neill, Reef, Sector Nine, Globe, Vans, Volcom, Body Glove, Patagonia, Billabong, Quiksilver, Rip Curl, Ecousable and DaKine.
"We are very excited to continue the tradition of incorporating challenges into International Surfing Day," says Travis Ferre, editor in chief of Surfing Magazine. "For organic and ethical reasons alone we decided to go with EarthPositive Apparel for our event T-shirts. We felt that as a company, Continental Clothing really is right for us to partner with, and the fact that [the company's] EarthPositive Apparel also measures carbon dioxide over the life cycle of the garments really spoke to us in a big way."
